The MTLS Alumni Network has been founded with the aim to connect Alumni, Current Students, and Staff from the Molecular Techniques in Life Science programme at KI, SU and KTH.
As it is a fairly young programme, that only started in 2015, the Alumni Group is growing solidly every year and we were enthusiastic to start this Network in 2021.

We are very happy to welcome the student-led Alumni network initiative, that we believe will help alumni to stay connected to the three universities, the Stockholm region, and not the least their former classmates. We also hope the Alumni network will serve as a way for current and future students to understand what career opportunities that exist, and maybe also get an understanding of how to get the most out of the two hectic and demanding years at the Molecular techniques in life science program. Since the start of the program, we have been extremely proud of our students, and this is a great initiative to strengthen the interaction between students from different years.
Launching an alumni network is a wonderful complement to the continual development of the programme. Although only a rather young programme, the alumni of the Master's Programme in Molecular Techniques in Life Science is an expanding group, and being able to provide this group with opportunities to stay in touch with one another and interact with current students is an excellent initiative. I'm confident that an alumni network will inspire students to consider some of the many exciting opportunities that they will have when they graduate from the programme.
Erik Lindahl is Professor of Biophysics at Stockholm University as well as KTH. He leads a research team at SciLifeLab studying ion channel membrane proteins by using both electrophysiology, cryo-electron microscopy and molecular dynamics simulations, and the group develops some of the most widely used simulation tools in the world. Erik is vice dean of the chemistry section at Stockholm University, co-director of the Swedish e-Science Research Center, and sits on the steering group of the new SciLifeLab & KAW national program for Data-driven Life Science.
